

Do you have 3 + years experience as a fire and emergency services provider?
To be considered a lateral transfer candidates must have the following credentials:
A minimum of three years experience in both fire and emergency services.
The candidate must hold the following certifications:

Virginia Department of Fire Programs or Pro-Board Certificated (Certified) Credentials in Firefighter I & Firefighter II

Virginia Department of Fire Programs or Pro-Board Certificated (Certified) Credentials in Hazardous Materials Operations
-
Pro-Board Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations Class (EVOC) III certification
-
Either a Virginia Office of EMS EMT-Basic certification or a National Registry EMT-Basic certification or higher.
Lateral transfer applicants must complete a job application and successfully complete all steps in the pre-employment and hiring process.
Candidates selected from this category may be able to attend an accelerated 6 week recruit academy based on certifications and credentials.
